Me and my friend wanted to share our hobby of playing Warhammer with friends and family and eventual the rest of the internet. Taking inspiration from similar table top lets play YouTube channels such as Play on Table top and Tabletop Tactics, to create an easily digested video explaining and entertaining for even people unfamiliar with tghe hobby.
I took the lead with this project. Having more experience with the practices and software needed to make this work. After I recorded the session I went straight to work in after effects to edit out awkward pauses and dead air out of the video. After that I began crafting the transitions between segments of the video. While editing, I ran into the limitations of my computer and it became difficult for timing the transitions and fades due to the size and processing requirements of the file. After some troubleshooting and dividing the video into smaller, less resource intensive groups, I was able to get it into a workable state and finish up the video to send to my friend to add the music and post.
I definitely learned a lot from working on this and will change quite a bit work improve both the creative process and the final product; such as pre-rendering the transition slides for easier integration. Working on the different segments individually from the start will also reduce the demand on my computer when editing.
Here is the video for your Enjoyment.
